Recognising the commitment and professionalism of our armed forces and helping them when they are injured is what Help For Heroes is all about.
After a vote amongst all staff, Help For Heroes was overhwelmingly chosen as our national charity for 2010-11. With the enthusiastic support of many people across the business, we have already been able to have an imapct on the charity's fundraising through suppporting the Help For Heroes Midlands Ball.
This single event raises over £100,000 each year for the charity and gives opportunites for staff to help organise the event before hand and help out on the night. We have further firm-wide and office-specific activities taking place throughout the year and look forward to developing our relationship with the charity. Help For Heroes is currently appealing for funds to build six rehabiltation centres across the UK.
The charity also provides support to armed forces personnel brought to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine in Birmingham, which moved to the brand new £550 million Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the city last year.
Corporate partner Simon Gill says: 'Help For Heroes has been a very popular choice amongst staff and we have seen a great turnout at events to help the charity. Many of us have friends or family in the armed forces and know how hard it can be for those injured. The firm is proud to be supporting Help For Heores and we are all doing our bit - from sponsored bike rides to cake sales.'
