Summer Placements in Scotland
HBJ Gateley offers a structured summer placement scheme for third or fourth year undergraduate law students (or students in either year of an accelerated course if you are a graduate entrant) interested in applying for a training contract with us. Our summer placement scheme reflects the format of HBJ Gateley’s training contracts. The aim is to offer candidates a snapshot of training with us.
The placements are organised over a three month period between June and September. Each placement lasts four weeks. During this time a student will be offered two "seats" from our four core work areas of corporate, real estate, commercial litigation and private client. There will be involvement in day-to-day departmental work and projects to be delivered by the end of each seat.
The HBJ Gateley placement experience is not confined to work. HBJ Gateley has an enjoyable office environment and our teams are relaxed and friendly. Importantly, we socialise together on a regular basis, whether it be for a few drinks after work, or a team weekend away. Our students are encouraged to join us in these events.
To successfully apply for a summer placement, you should currently be in your third or fourth year (or either year of an accelerated course if you are a graduate entrant) of an LLB. As is the case with training contract candidates, we want to hear from quick thinking, commercially-minded individuals with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
Summer placements with HBJ Gateley have proved to be highly popular and we recommend that you apply as soon as possible. To maximise your chances of being successful, please provide us with detailed information on your educational achievements, previous work experience and extracurricular activities.
Applications for our summer placement scheme for 2012 are now open, and will close on the 10th of February 2012. These are for training contracts commencing in either 2013 or 2014. Training contracts for 2012 are now closed.
