Gateley advises on sale of Haytons to Selwyns Travel Group

The Manchester office of top 50 national law firm, Gateley has advised Selwyns Travel Group on a deal that saw it purchase Haytons Executive Travel out of administration.

The acquisition by Selwyns, which has its headquarters in Cheshire and depots in Greater Manchester and Merseyside, will save 60 jobs with no disruption to the services it operates. Haytons will continue to operate under its own name, while also retaining the existing management team.

Chris Dunn, corporate partner at Gateley, led the deal, along with Gavin Clarke (senior associate in corporate recovery) and Francesca Read (associate in employment) from the Gateley Manchester office.

Dunn said: “We’re delighted to have acted for Selwyns in the purchase of Haytons. The acquisition has resulted in a number of jobs being saved with no disruption to passengers. It also provides Selwyns with a fantastic opportunity to further develop its business in the region and continue to grow.”
