Expertise
Amrik is a corporate lawyer who specialises in cross border corporate mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and investments. He has extensive experience in the United Arab Emirates having worked with government and private companies on large scale mega real estate projects.
Amrik is the Managing Partner in our Dubai office and Corporate Partner for Middle East and Africa.
Experience
Amrik has extensive experience on corporate transactions which include large scale investments into emerging markets. He has also built up a specialism over his career in advising hotel developers execute management contracts with international hotel operators such as International Group, Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt and Mandarin Oriental.
He has successfully completed the Cornell University course on a hotel real estate investment and asset management course and is highly recommended for his hospitality development work.
He is a member of the Law Society International Group and several hotel investment groups.
Successes
Amrik has recently been involved with several large scale corporate projects which include:-
Advised the Abu Dhabi Government Authorities on development and sale of hospitality assets in Abu Dhabi including the development of Saadiyat Island and the development of luxury 5 star resorts.
Advised a joint venture partner on USD $400 million development of land parcels in Pakistan.
Advised on the purchase of Raffles Schools and nurseries from Emaar Properties PJSC.
Advised a client on a joint venture and the establishment of a petrochemical blending refinery in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Advised a Dubai based client on the acquisition of a steel mill and plant in Kosovo.
Advised on the refinancing of Fairmont Hotel in India for USD $30 million.
Advised a high profile London based hospitality group in the opening of an outlet in Dubai and franchising in the Middle East.
Advised a Ugandan based company on mining concessions for gold and copper assets.
Interests
Amrik enjoys golf, watersports and travelling throughout Africa and Asia which includes walking and climbing. He is a member of the Montgomerie Golf Club in Dubai and takes a keen interest in motorsports.
