Colin is a Partner and heads the firm's banking and finance team in London. He specialises in corporate banking, acquisition & structured finance, property & development finance and security documentation.
He has advised on bilateral & syndicated facilities, acquisition & leveraged finance transactions, property & development finance transactions and debt & equity restructurings.
Colin has represented institutional investors, UK and US banks, building societies and public & private companies (in both the UK and US) in UK and cross-border acquisitions and disposals, management buy-outs, joint ventures and private equity transactions.
He has experience of advising clients in the banking and finance, property, healthcare, technology, motor, marine, retail and leisure, utilities and telecommunications sectors.
Advised The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc in its capacity as agent and arranger in relation to debt facilities provided for the £100 million secondary buy-out of Education and Adventure Travel (Holdings) Limited and its group by EATG (Bidco) Limited (backed by DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, the private equity division of of Credit Suisse).
Advising the management team on the banking and finance documents associated with the £80 million secondary buy-out of telecoms provider XLN Telecom to private equity firm ECI Partners.
Advised Lloyds Corporate Markets, Strategic Debt Solutions London team, on providing a £17 million term and revolving credit facility for the acquisition of a majority stake in a private limited company.
Advised The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc, Structured Debt Solutions London team, on providing debt finance to AudioGo Limited in relation to the £16 million private equity-backed (Alcuin Capital Partners LLP, London) MBI of BBC Audiobooks Limited from BBC Worldwide Limited.
Advised Downing LLP and its VCT funds on a series of debt and equity investments provided to companies in the health and leisure sectors.
Advised Santander Corporate Banking, Real Estate Finance on a series of debt funding rounds to a property investment group acquiring commercial properties for its established investment portfolio.
Colin's interests include golf, football, rugby and Tae Kwon Do where he competed and was part of the Great Britain team. His interests now extend to hiking, having successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge in 2011. He also enjoys cooking for his family and friends when he finds the time!
