James has rowed competitively for many years at Agecroft Rowing Club in Salford, winning medals in competitions both at home and abroad. He also enjoys distance running and regular cycle rides in the Peak District. When feeling less energetic, he like reading, watching films and working out which parts of his house are most in need of decorating.
