Expertise

Lisa is an experienced commercial, IP/IT and media lawyer. She has spent many years in-house at leading US multinationals such as Disney, Nickelodeon and Discovery Channel (where she was Director-Legal for six years) before moving back to private practice several years ago. Her in-house experience enables her to offer commercial and pragmatic advice aligned to each client's business strategy.

She splits her time between the London and East Midlands offices.

Lisa heads up a growing Media team in London for business affairs and contentious media/IP/defamation.

Experience

Lisa has wide ranging TV/Film production, distribution, compliance, music, talent, advertising/sponsorship, channel carriage and digital media experience. She also advises on commercial agreements including purchase/supply, agency/distribution, technology, partnerships, outsourcing and joint ventures. She helps clients protect and exploit their brands and valuable IT/IP.

Lisa also handles contentious IP and media matters.

She is a member of PACT (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television) and is a member of the PACT product placement committee. She is also a member of Women in Film and TV.

Successes

Drafted a joint venture agreement for an award winning children's clothing manufacturer.

Content advice for TV programmes dealing with subject matter ranging from 9/11, air crashes and Haiti.

Advised a post production house on its facilities service agreement and leasing of live event equipment.

Assignment of software rights to an educational institution.

Reviewed and advised on a TV programme commission with a leading broadcaster, its associated distribution agreement with a UK distributor and related talent agreements.

Advised an advertising agency regarding a key client contract; advertising content clearances.

Advised a health clinic regarding a celebrity endorsement deal.

Interests

Lisa enjoys running and travelling. She also enjoys opera and musical theatre.
