Sarah is a Partner specialising in commercial dispute resolution including breach of contract and tortious claims, post-acquisition warranty, indemnity & restrictive covenant claims and shareholder & board disputes. Sarah’s experience also includes disputes involving performance bonds and guarantees in relation to construction and engineering contracts and international trade.
Sarah is experienced in all methods of dispute resolution – litigation, arbitration, adjudication and alternative methods of conflict resolution such as mediation. Sarah’s recent work includes successful emergency applications for injunctive relief, complex multi-party actions in relation to performance bonds and a large technical dispute for an energy sector client.
As well as substantial experience in the lower courts, Sarah has successfully acted for clients in the Mercantile and Commercial Courts and before the Court of Appeal.
Obtaining emergency injunctive relief to uphold covenants given by a party in a business sale agreement.
Successfully defending a claim for fraudulent misrepresentation brought pursuant to a business sale agreement.
Acting in relation to a multi-party claim in relation to performance bonds.
Successfully acting for a specialist contractor in the nuclear industry in relation to a multi-million pound adjudication.
Successful application to the Court of Appeal in relation to the interpretation of a contract.
Advising a shareholder of construction company in relation to a shareholder dispute and his subsequent successful acquisition of majority interest.
Acting for trustees of a family trustee against former trustees for negligent investment advice in connection with investment in a construction company.
Acting for seller, buyer or investor on various breach of warranty and indemnity claims leading to negotiated resolutions and trial.
