asset finance

Asset finance has become increasingly important in recent years, as funders have sought to maximise the security available to them, and borrowers have looked to release value from their assets.

Whilst it was historically provided on a stand-alone basis, asset finance is now frequently provided as part of integrated packages and is viewed as a mainstream funding option.

Our asset finance team has extensive experience of the most common forms of funding techniques, including:

  • Hire purchase, conditional sale, finance and operating leases
  • Contract hire
  • Sale and leaseback transactions
  • Stocking plans
  • Fleet management arrangements
  • Shipping finance

Members of the team have the benefit of experience gained within the finance industry which enables us to provide advice which is given in a commercial context. In addition, we liaise closely with colleagues in other teams when the need arises, particularly members of the firm's tax and asset recovery teams. This enables us to handle matters seamlessly from the product development stage to documentation and implementation and, should things go wrong, through to recovery.
