We offer our clients a dedicated team of lawyers who specialise in advising retailers in relation to property matters. The team is led by Partners who have spent their careers involved in handling transactional and property management work for a variety of retailers. We act for a number of national high street brands as well as local and regional retailers and are retained by them to advise on all aspects of property work.

Most retailers tell us that property is essential to their business because traditional 'bricks and mortar' retailing requires floorspace to drive sales. However, property is also a significant cost to our clients as well as a potential liability. Our approach is to build close relationships with our clients so we become part of their team. In this way we aim to: -

• Minimise the need for client input in any contract negotiations
• Understand the client's appreciation of and appetite for commercial risk
• Maximise tenant flexibility and reduce contingent liability so far as possible in all lease negotiations
• Agree critical path milestones from instruction to store opening for each project

with a view to reducing the time, cost and stress to retail clients of gaining access to their new premises and opening for trade.
