Based predominantly in London, our insurance services team handles contentious and non-contentious insurance work in the marine and non-marine markets. The team has a respected reputation in the industry. Our expertise spans a varied cross-section of business sectors.

We provide a comprehensive service to policy holders as well as to insurers, brokers and other industry professionals. We regularly advise on policy interpretation, coverage disputes and issues involving misrepresentation, non-disclosure and breach of warranty. We often act in large scale property damage disputes, disputes over goods stored at commercial premises, claims arising from fire and flood damage and business interruption. In many cases, there is no dispute about policy coverage, so we work with policy holders and their insurers to defend third party claims against the policy holder or pursue recourse claims against liable parties.

The team is able to field bespoke teams utilising the expertise of other specialists within the firm. Recent instructions led to the creation of a team comprising experts from the insurance, construction and corporate recovery teams. The team is strengthened by a market leading surety law practice based in Manchester.
